Nigeria: Professional Bodies Endorse Minister's Culpability in Building Collapses

A joint meeting of Presidents and Registrars of professional regulatory bodies in the building environment comprising, Architects Registration Council of Nigeria (ARCON), Council of Registered Builders of Nigeria (CORBON), Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) and the Town Planners Registration Council (TOPREC) held recently for the purpose of addressing the seemingly intractable problem of building collapse in the country has recommended that, henceforth, government should hold responsible any minister, commissioner, head of establishment and relevant professionals responsible for Development Control, of any building that has collapsed within his or her jurisdiction.
