THE Kenya Revenue Authority has welcomed a proposal to reduce the list of zero rated goods as envisioned under the new VAT Bill. According to KRA, zero rating does not result into lower consumer prices and as such does not benefit those it is meant for. This is despite the loss in government revenue that come with it.
